The Vocational Program at the Autism Academy of Learning was first established in May of 2007 with our Holiday Inn French Quarter location. Since then we have expanded into five different sites off campus and two in-house vocational programs. The vocational program consists of Diana Burtscher (Vocational Coordinator) and Lisa Schendel and Chris Simmons (Job Coaches).
We currently work at the following locations:

Goodwill Industries in Toledo
The Humane Society in Toledo
St. Charles Hospital
The Toledo Zoo
The Autism Academy of Learning's vocational program is intended to be twofold:

Provide tangible work experience as well as meaningful and enriching social interaction that is both age and developmentally appropriate within a supportive environment

Provide meaningful and enriching contact with the community by increasing community awareness and support for individuals with Autism
