During the month of March, the Silver Room celebrated the joy of reading. The National Education Association (NEA) in partnership with Dr. Seuss Enterprises, celebrated the 18th annual “Read Across America Day” on March 2, which is also the 111th birthday of author Dr. Seuss. “Read Across America Day” has grown into the nation’s largest reading observance with more than 45 million participating. To highlight the joy of reading, the Silver Room teachers and special guest readers had read Dr. Seuss stories to our students during our circle time. The kids loved it! Guest readers included Angel, a student from the Purple room, and Ms. Dee, who works with our vocational program.
The Silver Room is also celebrating the warmer weather that spring brings. Finally! The students spent time designing an awesome bulletin board by making their own kite, butterfly, and flower that reflects their colorful personalities. With the creative ingenuity of our classroom teachers, Silver Room students were pictured flying their kites and enjoying the sunshine.
